About Me

My name is Umar Tariq Pirzada and the short form of it, UTP is what I am better known with friends. I have been an off and on blogger due to various reasons. Its not easy to be a religious blogger with so many other responsibilities. I do however try my best to maintain the sanctity of blogging by being at it more often. In recent times, the natural shift to micro-blogging on Facebook & Twitter has happened but I will resist this and continue to maintain this blog.

I am happily married and have 2 daughters and a son. I am originally from Sukkur, Pakistan and then most of my early life was spent in Karachi, Pakistan before I moved to UAE in Feb'07. I have done my Bachelors & Masters in Computer Science from FAST-NUCES, Karachi and have completed my MBA in Aviation Management from Coventry University.

I love music, pretty much all sorts, singing and listening but if I had to make that specific, I am a huge fan of Sufi & Inspirational stuff. I love watching sports and would love to be a more regular at playing cricket & basketball. When I get time I play sports on PS3 (MLB, NHL & NBA) as I am too lazy for real physical sports, but no harm in aspiring for it, right? I think I am quite patriotic though I feel I don't do enough for Pakistan. I love watching good movies and staying up-to-date with what goes around in the world. After my wife, my best friends are my technology gadgets.

I also love networking with new people and learning new things from them. I am one of those people who would be content with sitting in a corner observing the great world God has made. I would want the world to know me as that man observing the world from one obvious angle and trying to understand the other not-so-obvious one.
