SEE THE GUTS!!!

Once upon a time, three army generals were on a same flagship. One of them was American, another was Russian, and the third one was a Pakistani. Over the dining table, they had a debate on which one of them has tougher, and braver soldiers? They all ended up with one test. The American general called one of his soldiers and asked him to jump in the sea, to swim around the flagship thrice, and come back. The soldier took 5 minutes for this. The Yankee general said "See the guts...!!" The russian general asked his soldier the same, and the russian soldeir took merely 3 minutes. The Comrade general said "See the guts..!!!" The Pakistani general called one of his soldiers, and asked him to jump into the sea, swim around the flagship thrice and to come back. The soldier replied "TERE BAAP KA NAUKAR HOON KYA? " The Paki general said "See the guts...!!!"

One foot in the PAST the other in the FUTURE...

Got the pleasurable experience of watching 'Rang De Basanti' yesterday and by far it was one of the more inspiring movies I have watched in recent times...The movie helped me a decide a long term unanswered question...AAMIR KHAN is by far the more talented KHAN out of the Indian Film Industry...Shahrukh comes in next...Yes the BOY TOY Shahrukh has a more fan following and more screen appeal but he does monotonous roles and is enjoying the sunshine...while AAMIR experiments and definitely INSPIRES...

The blog name comes from the dialogue...'Ik paaon past mein hay aur doosra future mein....tabhi tou AAJ par MOOTH rahay hain...' translated to 'One foot in the past, the other in the future...no wonder we are peeing on the present'. As much as it sounds despicable, it holds a great reality if seen beyond the words...

Those people who watched the movie would know that it was a good hit at the Indian culture but I could see reflections of similar problems over here in Pakistan as well...some people are stuck in the past and cannot settle old scores...it will go on and on somehow...a never ending war say it between tribes, families and on a more common note politics. Also when we talk about another set of people who are stuck in the future.....hoping the good days would come....not doing anything about it...just waiting...and sometimes even running away from the problems and waiting from abroad....

But what about the present? The problems are here...in the present...all problems in the past are bygone...problems of the future?? I don’t think anybody here has that much foresight and for the sake of comment...considering we are giving no attention to the present I am worried that we don’t even have a FUTURE??

A big time revolution is required it seems, well that’s what has been said for all these 59 years...of independence...the movie hit the right note in my head...and I think that is not the requirement...a big time revolution isn’t one entity. It is a collection of deeds by various people and is actually a collective term....if everybody decides on making a difference...just as simple as making a difference ...the collective result would be much bigger and could be termed a revolution....

It sounds all hypothetical but after watching the movie...I could relate to it...and it is really possible....all one needs is a CANDLE to be lit!! The flame can travel and transfer to other candles...I think all we lack is the INSPIRATION?? We need someone to come out of the wilderness of their daily routines and INSPIRE the people of this nation...once the ball starts rolling and the objective defined...I think we can get back on track....

After LAGAAN, I felt AAMIR Khan was very close to making the perfect movie...'Rang De Basanti' did it I think...He is definitely one of my best All-Time favourites...and there arent many...in the list...

Mohe tu Rang De Basanti...!!!
