Amidst speculation that Ken Griffey Jr. might waive off his no-trade clause in order to get traded to Tampa Bay has been cleared up by his agent. It is just a rumour but it would be really useful for Rays if it happens.
He is going to be a bit costly but he just hit his 600th career homer and has 30 RBIs. He is certainly no goat when it comes to
swinging the bat and he has got a wealth of experience that could be useful anywhere in the lineup. Not to mention he is still one of the better outfielders in the game

On other fronts Big Papi has surprised a few people with a headline that he is nearing fitness. He might not need surgery at all if his pain subsides. The cast is expected to come off this week which could move him one step closer to the lineup although nobody needs to rush him at all. The Red Sox are certainly not missing him... and the depth has come alive although nobody can hit bigger than David Ortiz and he does cause some nightmare to managers who have to decide who to walk and who to pitch to...when Ramirez follows.
Its good to hear his quick path to recovery and I for one will look forward to some winning streaks for the Red Sox when he gets back.
How crazy would that move be though? The AL East is already the toughest division by far and that move would make it even better!
ReplyDeleteGood. If the Rays made that trade that would suck for the rest of the AL East(Yankees)
ReplyDeleteIMO , Griffey, Sabethia, Maddux will be switching to another clubs before the trade deadline.
ReplyDeletebut the question is..where is their next destination..!
