Windies were going on so well in the tournament that they were my favourites for the final victory as well and with pressure on Australia to win their only deprived trophy they should have had an edge. Not to be...Aussies came on a mission....didnt get to see they match but heard the scores 8 overs 70! and 138 all out ....only a Windies team can do that or maybe a Paki one too...
Inexperience and playing on the big stage played their part but the big guns needed to come to the party if Windies needed a win. With a team of basically young players...Gayle needed another one of those crackers and chanderpaul, sarwan and lara needed important roles...well not to be...Aussies blew them away after the opening partnership...
Full credit to Aussies though who have finally found a few young spearheads who can replace the aging McGrath in Bracken and M. Johnson. Both have been impressive and there is heaps to look forward to in the upcoming ASHES. Aussies finally take home the MINI WORLD CUP...congrats to them....
