US Basketball Team Wins Convincing GOLD

The US Basketball team ensured they live up to their promises and they finally delivered. It was a men-at-work Olympics for best team on the world. With the strongest and most famous league in the world, they should be winning each year and were surprise losers last Olympics. The only flaw identified as Leadership. As mentioned in another
post about Bryant & Kidd being Unannounced Captains, I had said this would be the difference. I think it was.

Of course the important thing was the focus of all players and seeing some maturity from Lebron James. Everybody was quietly on a mission. Not too much flare. Most of the players had played the last Olympics and they knew how that felt. They have however redeemed what is rightfully theirs. The Olympic Gold. Bryant came out his specialist 4th quarter magic and led them to victory at 118-107 against the spirited Spanish team.



I would like a special mention of the Spanish team who made up for a great gold medal match. USA has been pretty much running over their opponents all through the tournament and this could have been the same. However, it was not to be as the Spanish fought till the death. They came as close as 2 points beginning of the 4th quarter but then Kobe had other plans.

So a good basketball Olympics for the US team with their Women team winning as well. They were pretty dominant too and it spells out the supremacy and quality that the NBA and WNBA has as compared to the world. The world has to step up to come even close. If the US teams can set their head straight, leave their egos on the NBA floor and come as a team, they are unbeatable. They just proved that.
